Once there lived a lion in a forest. He used to kill animals indiscriminately as his daily food. This indiscriminate killing of animals by the lion created panic among the beasts of the forest. They held a meeting and decided that one animal would be sent to the lion each day as his meal. They made this proposal to the lion and he agreed. Thus everyday the lion ate an animal and satisfied his hunger. One day it was the turn of a rabbit. The rabbit was brave and clever. He intentionally walked slowly to the lion's den. He was late and the hungry lion was very angry. The furious lion asked. "Why are you late?" The clever rabbit replied Sir, another lion stopped me on the way and wanted to eat me". The lion in a rage wanted to see that lion. Pointing to a well the clever rabbit said. "Sir, that lion inside that well. Peep in and you will find him". The lion saw his own reflection the water below. Thinking it to be another lion he roared and jumped in. The animals of the forest were relieved of the lion. They thanked the rabbit for saving them from the lion.
